Other studies from the same university point out that green tea and its derivatives decrease the proliferation of cancer cells in the skin, stomach, esophagus, colon, lungs, bladder, pancreas, ovaries and sinuses. 8. Black tea, energy and metabolism
When it comes to caffeine content, the National Cancer Institute states that the most compromised is black tea (with 64 to 112 milligrams of caffeine per cup) while green tea contains onlyne between 24 and 39 milligrams per cup. According to WebMD, black tea raises your energy levels, makes you more alert and helps you lose weight, which compensates for large amounts of caffeine and theophylline, substances that raise the heart rate and activate metabolism.
In addition, some research published by the National Institutes of Health claim that black tea significantly reduces the levels of low density lipoprotein or harmful cholesterol in the body and, therefore, prevents the development of cardiovascular diseases.
9. A little clarification about caffeine …
If you are concerned about your caffeine intake, opt for decaffeinated tea varieties, as they contain the same amount of flavonoids.
However, if you have any other illness and should take certain prescribed medicines, I recommend that you consult your specialist before incorporating this infusion into your diet plan, because it can cause insomnia, palpitations, irritability and dizziness.
